1. Roadside guardrail must be set up on highway Bridges of all levels.

2. Highways and primary highway Bridges as secondary trunk lines must be equipped with median guardrail, while primary highway Bridges as distributed roads should be equipped with median guardrail.

3. For highway bridges with design speed less than or equal to 60km/h, sidewalks pedestrians (bicycle lanes) can be separated from vehicle lanes by kerb; for highway bridges with design speed greater than 60km/h, sidewalks pedestrians and vehicle lanes should be separated by bridge guardrail.

1. The construction of metal beam-column guardrail should meet the following requirements:

(1) The guardrail collision surface should be smooth, continuous, without sharp corners, between the metal column and beam should meet the width requirements to vehicle restraint.

(2) The total height of metal beam-column guardrail of SB grade and below protection grade shall not be less than 1.00 meters, the total height of metal beam-column guardrail of SA grade shall not be less than 1.25 meters, and the total height of metal beam-column guardrail of SS grade and above protection grade shall not be less than 1.50 meters.
