AASHTO M180 w beam guardrails

Aashto m180-12 standard highway guardrails include w beam guardrails and thrie beam guardrails. The beams material is used the S355JR, ASTM A588 which is equivalent to China Q355B. The tensile strength of S355JR is higher than Chinese GB guardrails material Q235B, so the thickness of the Aashto M180 beams is smaller than China GB beams thickness while ensure the same containment level. For the hot dip galvanizing of beams, there are two types in specification: type 1 and type 2. For the post and spacers, hot dip galvanizing follow the standards ASTM A123 or Aashto M111, and the raw material is ASTM A36 or S235JR generally.
